Michelle Alfini is a climate beat reporter at WSOC in Charlotte, NC.
She has a passion for using storytelling to help untangle complex and nuanced issues impacting our environment and the energy industry while ensuring human voices and experiences remain at the center of the story.
She began her career at KBJR 6/CBS 3 in Duluth, Minnesota. There, she covered a variety of stories including the explosion at the Husky Energy refinery. As the first reporter on scene, she gave updates from the field as the station aired seven hours of continuous coverage. In 2018, that coverage was awarded an Upper Midwest EMMY for breaking news reporting.
